Smart.net is a networked access control product which
is configured with a PC. Each controller on the network
wil manage one door, two readers and associated locks
etc. The powerful access control solution allows for up
to 99 doors and 2,500
users.
Each controller (DC2000) will store events (transactions)
which are collected.
The starter kit includes:- software and protocol convertor.
The software is supplied on a CD and comes with a unique
serial number.
Additional door kits include:- 1 door controller built
into 12v dc power supply and card reader (magnetic stripe
or proximity).
Additionally a web cam can also be used with the Smart.net
system.

Networked
(or PC based) access control means that the door is controlled
from a computer rather than being stand alone. Usually
the PC is not required to be switched on all of the time
as the controller will make decisions once it has been
configured.
